Automated Log Sending in Checkbox

To reduce manual effort and shorten the time required to resolve user queries, Checkbox has developed an automated log-sending mechanism. This mechanism ensures completeness by collecting error logs, application configuration details, and system information, thereby improving troubleshooting efficiency.

It provides Checkbox’s Technical Support team with standardised diagnostic data packages while maintaining system stability by minimising performance impact on production systems during data collection.

Sending auto logs to Checkbox support

The feature is available from version 8.26 onwards. 

How to send the logs automatically?

When the Checkbox application is working

  • Navigate to the System page in the Admin application
  • Switch to the “Exception log” tab
  • Click on the “Send logs to support” button
  • Wait until your request is processed

When your application cannot start (doesn’t have any local logs or is in EventViewer)

  • Navigate to the path of installation
  • Execute the file Checkbox.AutoLogs.Daemon.exe as Admin
  • Wait until your request is processed
    • If you don’t see any errors, then click ENTER ->  Your request will be sent to Checkbox
    • If you see any errors, please share the copy with Checkbox Support at support@checkbox.com.
