I'm setting up a test environment, I've downloaded the application files and license file to a test location and backed up the database to a test server. Do I follow instructions for a new install. I remember having to activate versions in previous years, don't want to deactivate my live application.
To set up a new test environment, you should:
- Backup your database
- Restore your database with a different name
- Follow the Install Guide located in the Documentation folder (assuming you're not changing versions)
- **Very Important: When prompted to overwrite or preserve your database, make sure to choose PRESERVE DATABASE
Checkbox licenses no longer require activation, so you don't need to worry about that. That should do it, but let us know if you have any other questions.
